KC Stars Travel Hockey Selection Process

1. Players must attend the try-outs. Missing any sessions may impact a player’s chance of making the team (Only players with a valid and pre-approved reason for not attending will be considered… such as illness or injury or a family moving in from out of town shortly after tryouts).
    
2. Team coaches and assistant coaches are primarily responsible for selecting players. The Hockey Director and the Travel Director will have input as needed.
    
3. Players will be selected based on work ethic, skating, passing, team play, attitude, hockey sense and overall ability.
    
4.  Coaches will contact each players parents prior to the final roster being released on the website. www.kcstarshockey.com
    
5. Teams will be posted on the Stars website www.kcstarshockey.com as soon as possible during the week after try-outs.
    
6. Travel Practices are tentatively scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, unless a team requests different days. Times are TBD. 
    
7. Team managers, schedulers and treasurers will be selected by the coaches and approved by the Travel Director and Hockey Director.
    
8.  “AA” level travel teams should play 40 to 50 games. “A” level travel teams should play 35 to 45 games.
