KC Jets are Midwest High School West Division Champions

Championship Games this Weekend and Next

The Kansas City Jets Midwest High School Varsity team finished the regular season with a 23-5 record and won for the 2nd year in a row the West Division Championship.  The varsity will head into this weekend as the #2 seed for the Varsity Year-End Tournament and will face the Lincoln Stars in their opening round game on Friday in Ames, IA.  The Jets Varsity was lead by two time Midwest High School Scoring Champion - Logan Lopicka, an outstanding defense lead by Jeffery Anderson, Erik Porzelt and Michael Kuhn, and two of the Top Three goal tenders in the league, Blair Sanders and Anthony Galliart.   The Varsity Jets were also, lead by Sam Cheesebrough, Garret Ready, Brandon Hawkins and Yale Yan Dyne who finished in the top 25 in league scoring. Other members of the Jets Varsity that will play key parts in their quest to win a League Tournament Championship are Logan Adkins, Josh Coleman, Jack Critser, Danny Lewis, Dylan Mackey, Jarrett McDonald, Joey Panella, Mack Starr, and Jake Steiner.


The Kansas City Jets Midwest High School JV team finished the regular season with a 25-2-1 record, winning the West Division Championship and having the Best record in the league for the 4th year in a row.  The Jet JV outstanding season has earned them the #1 seed in the Year-End Tournament that will take place on March 1st – 3rd in Ames, IA and they will play Lincoln Star in their first game on Friday, March 1st.   The JV lead the league in the most goals scores (131) and the offence was lead by Top Ten League Point Scorers, Jon McManus (2nd), Mack Starr (4th), Nick Cardin (6th), and Jon Moore (9th) and Top 25 in the league scoring, Garrett Kellam, Gunnar Morse and Ty Ennis.  Other key forwards were, Peter Denzin, Alex Hoehn, Anthony Hummell, James McManus and Jackson Small.  The Jets defense was outstanding only giving up 31 goals all year and were lead by the Top Two goal tenders in the league, Erik Schuette and Nick Steiner. The goalies had an outstanding defensive group in front of them, consisting of Thomas Corr, TR Flick, Anderson Love, Joey Panella, Abraham Ruffcorn, Tyler Terrono, and Josiah Smith.
