 KC Stars House Select Information for 2012-2013

House Select teams in the Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam divisions are starting to form.  These teams will play in the Select division of the Midwest Hockey League.  Try-outs are open to all current house league players.  House Select is in addition to your regular house team.   All select games and practices are scheduled around the house league schedule and typically do not conflict.

Each select team will play in the Midwest Hockey League which consists of other Select teams from Kansas City, Des Moines, Omaha, Lincoln, Fremont, Sioux City, Wichita, etc.  Each weekend consists of 3-4 games.  One of the league weekends is usually held locally.

In addition to league play, your select team may play some local friendship games and possibly choose to attend one out of town tournament. We will be hosting one home tournament December 27-29 at KCIC.

Practices will be held at KCIC on the weekends (mainly Sunday afternoons) depending on ice availability.

All in all, select teams play approximately 16-18 games +/-.  The estimated cost per player is about $350-$450 depending on how many players are on your team.  The estimated cost covers practices, tournaments, friendship games, referees, and league fees.  This cost does not include costs associated with overnight travel, etc.

Summary: 8-12 practices, two teams on the ice for most practices, 2-4 Friendship games, 10-12 League games,  one away tournament.  This will be a total of 3-4 out of town trips.

Cost Summary
$350-$450 per player.  The fee will be adjusted depending on how many players are on your team.  This cost does not include costs associated with overnight travel and transportation.
