The KC Stars PeeWee Select team won the Midwest Hockey League Tri State Championship this weekend in Fremont, Nebraska. The team entered league finals undefeated as the #1 seed. This weekend they beat the Omaha Knights and Omaha Gladiators to advance to the Championship game against the Des Moines Chops. Head Coach jim Hunsperger lead his team to a 4-1 victory against Des Moines by playing smart clean hockey.  The team finishes the league with a record of 10-0-1. Jim is assisted by Mike Davis, Scott Reinardy, and Travis Reynolds.  Congratulations team!

Stars Mites #3 brought home the 3rd place trophy from the St. Joe End of Season Tournament last weekend. It was very exciting and the game ended with a shootout. The team beat both the pre-tourney #1 and #3 seeds and rose from a ranking of #6. EVERY kid on the team did a great job. To the parents, the game was every bit as exciting as the Olympic USA vs. Canada the same day! When the game ended, all of the players dog-piled the goalie, Christopher Chirico (a kindergartner! playing up from Atoms), congratulating him on blocking all three shoot out shots. The boys had a 8-10 season before the tournament so this victory was quite a big deal for them.  Mite #3 is coached by Dan Dandreo and Darren D'Amato.

The KC Stars PeeWee Select went undefeated at the Omaha Joust Tournament Presidents Day weekend.  They were 3-0, 7-2, and 3-2 in pool play and beat Des Moines Chops 8-1 for the Championship.  The PeeWee Select team is also undefeated in the Midwest Hockey League select division.  They are coached by Jim Hunsperger, Mike Davis, Travis Reynolds and Scott Reinardy.

The KC Stars Mite Select team had a very successful weekend in Omaha winning the Joust Tournament for a second year in a row.  The highlight of the weekend was winning the Championship game 2-1 in overtime against the Omaha Gladiators to capture the gold medal.  The team played very well in all four games of the tournament outscoring the opposition 22-7. Mite Select is coached by Gary Doucette, Bret Woodson, and Laurent Roy.
