Midget AA / Midwest High School League Hockey

2008-09 Season

 

Tryout Dates:  Thursday September 18 (Jr. & Sr. at 5:40p, Fr. & Soph. at 6:50p), Thursday September 25th, 5:40pm and 6:50pm based on group assignment, and Saturday September 27th 9:20am-11:30am and 3:10pm-5:20pm. Please note these are new dates and times.  Tryout fee $60, payable at September 18 sign-in.  Any player wishing to tryout but has a school related or other conflict (ex.- football) should contact Coach Emmons.

 

Program:  Competitive AA program open to all current Kansas City area high school students born before January 1, 1994.  Two separate levels of play (Varsity & JV), each team will participate in approximately 40+ games, 50% home games, starting in mid-October (pre-season/tournament) and ending no later than first week in March.  Teams will compete in Midwest High School Hockey League.  Team will practice twice per week (Wednesday and Thursday) throughout the season and participate in off ice training.  Additionally, players will be encouraged to get additional ice time by playing for their local high school team in the KC High School Hockey League.     

 

Projected Player Fee: $3,000 base fee, plus $750 travel assessment (covers 5 weekend bus trips with overnight hotel stays).  Fee is ‘all inclusive’ and covers all game costs, practice ice, uniforms, new locker rooms, coaching, bus travel / hotel, administrative costs and majority of player’s KC High School League fee.

 

Total Program:  We are anticipating a very competitive tryout.  Selections will be made from a forward looking ongoing total program perspective.   Jr. & Sr. will be judged against a Varsity standard, and Fr. & Soph. to a J.V. standard with roster spots set aside specifically for underclassmen.
